We're back!
After
a fairly torrid couple of years, we figured that we could all do with a
good laugh, and who better than Eric Chappell, creator of such TV
classics as Rising Damp, Only When I Laugh and others, to provide the
material? In Wife After Death, we
find the family and friends of Dave Thursby, a popular comedian,
assembled to pay their respects following his premature passing. Before
long, however, it becomes clear that there was much about Dave's life
that neither his widow nor his closest friends knew anything about, and
the surprises just keep coming as the plot unravels. Regular
supporters of the Fairlight Players will see some of their old
favourites among the cast, plus a new face in the shape of Ita Wise,
playing the grieving widow. New director, Adam Smith,
brings a fresh vitality to the production, and you can be assured of a
lot of laughs and great entertainment value. If Covid
has kept you away from live theatre for a while, then this would be an
excellent time to renew your acquaintance. Tickets will be on sale at
Fairlight Post Office from the beginning of April, or you could call
our ticket hotline on 07377 915741. As always, we
would welcome new members to the group, whether acting or non-acting,
so if you would like to be more involved with the Fairlight Players, or
if your membership has lapsed during lockdown, click here to find everything you need to know about renewing your membership online, or here if you would like to become a member for the first time.
