Sadly, we have no information concerning this,
the first full length play presented by the Fairlight Players beyond
that which can be discerned from this notice. However, there are
some interesting points to note.
Firstly, although the flyer doesn't state as much, it is probably
safe to assume that the play was produced by W Gordon Lyon, since he
is listed as producer throughout the first few years of the Players'
existence. He also wrote the play (as he had done so with "The
Laugh", one of the three shorter plays produced in the previous
Autumn), writing under the pseudonym of G Lyon Hastings.
Secondly, the Box Office was located at The Red House in
Shepherds Way, where it would remain for the next few plays.
Finally, in only the third production by the Players, ticket
prices were increased, which appears to indicate a growing
confidence in the group's popularity ... either that or the
appointment of a new treasurer?
