A Lady Mislaid

A Comedy in two Acts by Kenneth Horne

Produced by Leslie Hulf

Cast
Mrs. Small (daily woman) Winifred Miller
Jennifer (younger sister) Binkie Holmes
Esther (elder sister) Joan French
Bullock (detective) Sam Warden
Visitor Jim Jeffery
George (Jennifer's fiance) John Chambers
Young woman Lydia Perry
The action takes place in the living-room at "Manor Cottage", the home of Esther and Jennifer Williams over a period of two days in October.

Although the review (right) indicates that the parts of the two sister in this play were in "experienced hands", Binkie Holmes, playing the part of Jennifer was, so far as I can tell, making her debut for the Players in this performance. That is not to say, of course, that she had no acting experience at all.

The picture below was in a group of unidentified photographs and so, while I cannot be sure that it comes from this play, it seems like a reasonable guess. The two ladies have been identified by one of our more "senior" members as Binkie Holmes (seated) and Joan French. If anyone is able either to corroborate or deny this assumption, I will be glad to hear from them.
