| First performed at the Fortune Theatre, London
in 1946 with Glynis Johns as the bride, that role was filled by Dee
Beeching when the Players first staged this play in 1959 . This
time around, Lynda Leigh is the bride with apparently cold feet.
Only one new face on stage this time - Jane
Ratcliffe as the Bridesmaid - but three more behind the
scenes. Joyce Mitchell and Janice Wright helped out with props and
decor (could it be one of these who managed to persuade Willards the
Bakers to supply a wedding cake?), while John Aitchison was
responsible for recording. The programme doesn't say what was being
recorded, or whether it was legal ... so perhaps best not to go into
that. |
