The scene is the drawing-room of Lord Arthur Savile's house in Grosvenor Square, London in the 1890s.

With not one, but two reviews, there seems little need to comment on the play, although I must say that it sounds rather intriguing. I note, however, that we have finally managed to get Jenny Hatfield to take to the stage (she first appeared in the backstage credits some 9 years earlier), and we have a whole gamut of new helpers behind the scenes, including (appropriately) a Mrs. Gamet, for whom we have no first name, but who helped with the decor.
