"Something To Hide" was first produced at the
Theatre Royal, Windsor, on February 3rd, 1958, moving to London in
April of that year. It was well received by the press, the Times
describing it as a "tense melodrama", while the London Evening News
labelled it "compulsive theatre". The Daily Mirror said that it "has
more twists to it than a stick of barley sugar", and the Worthing
Herald (a publication which is surely revered in serious acting
circles) said that it is "tense enough to make your hair
curl."
Sadly, we appear to have no further information
concerning the Fairlight production, so we can only imagine the
atmosphere in the village
hall. |
