Only 8 years after its first performance in
London, the Fairlight Players scored a hit with this thoroughly
modern production. The set designers coped well with the challenge
of bringing the outside inside but, despite what the review might
suggest, it was not necessary to torch a new BMW during each
performance.
Heather Agar played the Miriam, a part
originally played by Julia McKenzie, while Lynda Leigh had the
unenviable task of filling the metaphorical shoes
of Maureen Lipman. Rob Friedl and Martin Harris tread the
Fairlight boards for the first time as Alex and
Kevin. |
