This picture of the set (above) is of interest as, apart from showing a good example of the immaculate sets for which the Fairlight Players are justifiably renowned, it also shows quite clearly the lights in use at the time (which will one day be gazed at in wonder by museum visitors). One can also see that the Players have by now adopted the practice of using stage extensions, thus extending the usable stage area by about four feet in front of the curtains. Present day audiences are, of course, quite accustomed to this arrangement, but this is the first time that it has been as clearly shown in any of our archive photos.
