	The scene is the living room of the Vicarage of Long Barrow, near Dartmoor on 10th October 1947.

This play is remembered mainly for its spectacular effects, but it also marked several notable debut performances. Bob Marden made the first of several appearances in this play. The other three represent a welcome boost in the younger age group, with Aisling Tigwell (the first of the three Tigwell siblings to tread the boards at Fairlight) and Alison Collie appearing as sisters Audrey and Joyce. Meanwhile Tom Miller, still a regular on the stage to this day (both in plays and pantomime) makes his debut in, as I recall, a rather spendid pair of riding boots!
