A Strangeth Tale of the Dragon and St. George

by Keith Jellicoe

Long long ago when time was new
from afar came young someone who had not a clue.

Finding Engle a land, of title bold
having tales and myths, mightily told

His nameth be strange arhyming with gorge
besuiting a lad ..rotunded and nameth...George

Not very pretty nor smartely clad
having not firs, horn nor whistle & coverings drab...

So one wonders could such object be dull as well ?
Or perhaps a fooler with secret assets a-dwell?

But said it is ... hidden wonders once came to the
fore To fight off the foe to whom we now explore........

Yes from similar stances-circum arose with great stealth
A foe to cause constance & perhaps alter health

For this...unexpect much different type foe
Having lappings gorgeous with squigs full aglow

This not of norm had manners polite
Be thanking pleeze with gripshake of tight

Surprise showed of breeding so too
with abowing both heads and near silent utter of ...Moo

Time come together of outcum decide
with both touch of grarders and sclurts but of course not grylyde

At once axe George swisheth by gumption to strike
twin headed beast witheth mightyest swipe

Dueleth by gosh in rage eth desire
When outcoming of monster assudden twinneth explodions of fire!

Immediate George of lustrous tail hair burneth and singe
leaves just remaineth a short sooted fringe

agrinneth the monster with dual smoketh nostrils and vastly heard bellow
..but wonders what stemeth from youngest afellow?

Well with mightiest fear, saviour ours haseth some masterful switch
By entering vast fleebag for surprised monster...to itch!

Poor monster starteth with each leggeth to scratch
but notteth nimble for one flee for to catch

With defeatest amazement monster collapsed and enfloored
and surpriseth resumption immediate of manners restored

To aideth calming and return common sense
our George finds aqua for fire and itching to quench

With paws and hand shaketh and three heads abowed
our monster becometh friendly with dual smiles endowed

Still unfloundered winner George soon duth complaint
and forever thereafter he be nameth a Saint!

At once, bright suiteth George upon monster astride
his new land patrolleth with enjoyment and pride

even waveth his flag of white central cross rouged
happieth friend monster hath ended their feud

But tearfulleth monster with four eyelidded tears
has suffered term monster for too manyeth years

So with Engle now safe and forever secure
no longer wild monster to longeth endure

our George with pony tail fresheth and cloak of gold train
at once inventeth an appropriate name

such descript exact suiteth how George he be dressed
but feareth not nor be worry nor ever distressed …......

for such name well suiteth fire monster perfect so too
but please keepeth quiet if so guessed correct by.... you.....

as it be such title splendid to applaud and to brag on...
for of course now and forever they both
have.........their
