| Written
in response to our quarterly challenge, in this case being to write
something on a "local" theme. |
Fairlight, a lovely village with a smiling face.
Filled with friends who listen, a companionable place.
A place where you can wander or can roam.
I am pleased to call Fairlight my home.
If a million pounds should find its way to my purse,
I could fly away to anywhere on this earth,
I might have a holiday on some exotic shore,
Then hurry back to Fairlight I am sure.
To friends and warmth of every cheerful grin,
Making merry in this delightful place is no sin.
I dreamed last night of Firehills; in the arms of Gregory Peck.
When I woke up this morning, all I had was a pain in the neck.
