Hobbies

by Mary Stewart

I’m not sure I have any hobbies, there’s masses of things that I do
I’ve tried quite a lot in my lifetime, so here goes, I’ve listed a few.

There’s sight-seeing, theatre going, cinemas and hiking,
ballet, line and sequence dance, back of motor-biking.

Glass painting, decoupage, patchwork and pottery,
Wimbledon, museums and failing on the lottery.

French group, Keep Fit, water colours, skating,
Family tree, gardening, green-house propagating.

Letter writing, googling, typing and stenography,
encaustic art, sketching, black and white photography.

There’s rug making, quilting, needlepoint, macramé,
That’s the craft that with bits of string that nearly drives you barmy!

Water sports and swimming club, diving, surfing, floating,
travelling and holidays and lots of narrow-boating.

There’s Ken-Ken, bridge, crazy eights, bananagrams,
crosswords, the cryptic type with lots of hidden anagrams.

There’s crochet, knitting, stocking stitch and cable,
tennis, the outdoor type and also on a table.

Bird watching, fossil-hunting, tree climbing, camping,
decorating, woodwork and general house re-vamping.

So that’s just a few of my past times, I’ll always try something that’s new
But will they be thought of as hobbies? I don’t know, I’ll leave it to you.
