June bringing with it the dramatic longest day,
Sending the warmth of the sun encouraging us to play.
Or sit in the garden to see the foxgloves tall as sentenels in the hedge
Where nightingales nest, preparing for their young to fledge.
I have no want to fly to some foreign exotic shore.
I’ll wait for the explosion of summer bringing more and more.
Delightful things to watch, and set my heart to sing.
Buds to open, each bird the pleasure that they can bring.
The perfume of the jasmine, lingering for a while.
Hold the same magic as watching a baby’s first smile.
Holidays what good would they bring to me. I’m happy here!
Watching each seasons charm, so splendid as they appear.
