Night

by Kathy McKay Sinclair

Night time the stars are in the sky, I wonder why
My thought return to you?

In nights gone by we walked beside the sea,
We saw the moon shine on the water, I didn’t alter.
Keep thinking of you.

I haven’t seen you now for many years,
When I shed tears,
But that was many moons ago, and I know

My time with you was not wasted time, it was sublime.
The time I spent with you.

I was a fool to give it all away, and to this day
When night is here, my mind returns to you.

You are still my world, and when my world is done
I hope you will come, to lead me to the rest of time.
With you.
