Ten Words

by Norman Dengate
The challenge on this occasion was to write a poem which included ten words randomly suggested by members of the group. The ten words were as follows;
agree - beautiful - believe - expedition - forget - formualtion - grace - robust - sunshine - tripe

In November we were given Ten words to use just how we chose
I gave a lot of thought to this, whether poetry or prose?
You’ll AGREE the choice of words was ROBUST, and verse needs FORMULATION
So BELIEVE me I’ve tried my best,. to FORGET my nerves and hesitation

My thoughts by now have spread wide, what is the best decision ?
Thinking BEAUTIFUL thoughts just will not help, nor result in EXPEDITION
My thinking is distracted now, by the view across the gardens
The GRACEFUL trees swaying in the breeze, and SUNSHINE, the last ere winter hardens

One word to go, I must decide, the end’s in sight, ‘Thank God’
But I’d rather be in the countryside, with my camera and TRIPE-od
