| For
the autumn 2012 meeting of the Poetry Group, members were encouraged to
write a poem on the subject of the weather, perhaps reflecting on the
lovely hot summer that we didn't have this year. |
Low pressure and deep depressions
Hurricanes and tornadoes
Stormy weather and cloud bursts
Ice and snow, frost and sleet
Cold fronts passing through
With occasional sunny spells
Are all we can expect Throughout the winter months.
High pressure and heat waves
Warm fronts and showers
Wall to wall sunshine
Occasional wispy clouds
Scuttling across the sky
Bring in the soft warm breeze That welcomes one and all
To the lazy days of summer.
