Each morning whilst at breakfast
We watch the weather presenter
And hope they are encouraging
Whether it’s Carol, Paul or Peter
But it could be Phil or Michael
Who gives us this forecast?
If only they would forecast sun
And promise it would last
Arrows and squares with numbers
Are now upon the screen
They all look very pretty I wonder what they mean?
A depression now is heading in
From the Atlantic way out west
We’re told it might change its mind
But only it knows best
Local showers are now predicted.
I wonder where is local?
‘Sunshine & showers’, ‘Heavy rain’
and ‘Chance of fog,’ add to the depressing total
The UV factor is now displayed
In case you risk the sun
By spending time upon the beach,
You’ll need more than factor one
And so the weather comes to an end
The remote kept close at hand
But remember all this UV news
